Kingswood Students Step Up

Students at Kingswood Elementary recently participated in a school-wide walk-a-thon. The idea for the event came from some grade six students who wanted to get their peers more active while raising money for their school. Pictured above are many of the participants including students, staff and parents. They were also joined by some local athletes and celebrities including the RCMP Safety Bear, who danced and encouraged all participants during the event.

Madeline Symonds Gives Back

On Nov. 9, Madeline Symonds Middle School presented a cheque for $6,700 to the Terry Fox Foundation. This amount represented the money raised for cancer research through the school’s annual Terry Fox walk. In the last five years, MSMS has raised more than $30,000 for the foundation. Pictured above are students Haley Warnica and Kaitlyn
Bennett with Barbara Sam, an MSVU Co-op student and Jean Densley, Terry Fox Run School Coordinator.
