Effective Schools
High performing schools share a number of common characteristics. Research indicates that high performing schools:
- Set high expectations for student learning
- Maintain a safe and orderly environment
- Develop positive home school relationships
- Monitor student progress
- Provide strong instructional leadership
- Have a clear and focused mission
- Ensure available time is focused on learning
- Engage students in their school and in their learning
