Advanced Placement
Advanced Placement (AP) courses are offered at the following high schools:
- Auburn Drive High School
- JL Ilsley High School
- Millwood High School
- Sir John A Macdonald High School
AP courses follow guidelines developed and published by the College Board.
The College Board is a not-for-profit membership association whose mission is
to connect students to college success and opportunity. The Advanced Placement Program is one of its best known programs. AP provides students with the
opportunity to take one or more university-level courses while in high school.
Each course covers the breadth of information, skills and assignments found in
the corresponding university course.
AP is accepted by more than 3600 universities and colleges worldwide for
credit, advanced placement or both on the basis of successful AP exam grades.
To get the most current information on a specific university’s AP course
recognition policy, contact the registrar’s office and/or the department of the
university that you are interested in attending.
