Financial Services provides services to schools and board departments in the areas of finance, accounting, payroll, purchasing, contract and grants administration.
For the 2012-2013 school year, the HRSB will manage a General Fund budget of $395,571,300, of which $275,387,600 comes from the Department of Education, $106,256,000 comes from the Halifax Regional Municipality and the remainder from other sources.
The HRSB will also manage a Supplementary Fund budget of $17,556,000 (provided by the HRM) which is spent equitably across the entire region.
