Student Advisors, Your Voice on Student Issues

The Halifax Regional School Board was the first school board in Atlantic Canada to create a permanent seat at the board table for students.

Since the positions of Student Advisor and Deputy Student Advisor were approved in April 2003, students have provided a strong voice on issues that directly affect them. The advisors have given board members invaluable insight into how decisions made at the table play out at the school level.

The student advisor for the 2011-12 school year is Callahan Murphy from Halifax West High School, while the deputy advisor is Suzanne Gray from Charles P. Allen High School.
