Backpacks for Kids
Tim Hortons began sponsoring a “Backpacks for Kids” campaign in the fall of 2005. It’s aimed at giving a backpack filled with such things as scribblers, pencils, erasers and crayons to children whose families might not otherwise be able to afford everything their children need for school. Loyal Tim’s customers were asked to donate the supplies to stuff backpacks provided by the coffee chain. Together, the company and its customers have helped more than 600 elementary schoolchildren in Nova Scotia. The school board or school principals determine which children should receive the backpacks.
