AWARDS/PRESENTATIONS
- Stacey Toth, Consultant, Safe Schools presented plaques to the elementary students whose artwork is featured in the HRSB's 2012 Healthy Living Calendar.

CHAIR’S REPORT
- Irvine Carvery, Chair, presented his monthly report. A copy of the Chair’s report was filed with the minutes.
SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT
- Carole Olsen, Superintendent, presented her monthly report. A copy of the Superintendent’s report was filed with the minutes.
ITEMS FOR DECISION
1. Report #12-01-1327 - Renaming of Cornwallis Junior High School - (link)
The report recommended that the Board approve the renaming of Cornwallis Junior High School as “Halifax Central Junior High School” as per the recommendation of the School Advisory Council.
- The motion (Poole/Yee) was approved.
2. At the September 28 meeting of the Board, members approved the following motion:
It was moved and seconded (Cameron/Yee) that the Board approve the Ad hoc Governance Report and its recommendations with a trial period to the end of December, and a decision to be made in January 2012 on the process.
- The motion was deferred to a future meeting.
3. Report #12-01-1328 - Electoral Boundary Review - (link)
The report recommended:
That the governing Board approve:
- The proposed Halifax Regional School Board’s electoral districts.
- Amending the information utilized for the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board’s submission and public submission information
- The motion (Poole/Conrod) was approved.
COMMITEE REPORTS
Audit Committee No report.
Nova Scotia School Boards AssociationIt was moved and seconded (Cameron/Poole) to accept the report of the Nova Scotia School Boards Association for information.
